I gave my mother a book of Vogue covers, from the '30's to the '80's. It featured this outfit, and I always craved the tight rectangles of her veil. The cadmium sweater stands out, as the velvety background absorbs her dark suit - delightfully so.
I'm fascinated that you know this! What a sweet memory - I wonder if you still have access to that book. I just love print material in any work of art; in the myriad paintings of women reading, so rarely does the text appear to be as business-minded as the pamphlet held by this jaunty lady.
